Actualmente nos enfrentamos a un desafío global sin precedentes; es la primera vez en la historia que la humanidad en conjunto ve amenazada su integridad biològica simultáneamente, a pesar de diferencias geográficas, culturales o tecnológicas. Asì, mientras buscamos superar dificultades económicas progresivas, nos enfrentamos al desafío ético descomunal de cómo seguir adelante bajo el imperativo de preservar la vida por encima de todo.
El Taller abordará esta pregunta fundamental a través de las potencialidades de la investigacion y enfoques de intervención. Es un llamado a la acción y la reflexión para una mejora radical de las circunstancias actuales de espacio urbano en el marco del COVID 19. Una agenda de investigación y diseño de emergencia, destinada a crear alternativas para el entorno construido actual a través de dispositivos de respuesta de bajo costo, capaces de abordar necesidades infraestructurales con recursos mínimos.
Objetivos
El taller enfoca en mapear las contingencias y dificultades y alternativas que comunidades o individuos enfrentan para desarrollar su vida econòmica, social y educativa, a partir de los inconvenientes generados por los riesgos del COVID 19. Una investigaciòn preliminar del ámbito público, que permita explorar los significados, fronteras y relaciones de poder que conforman la esfera pública y que determinen el acceso a recursos e infraestructuras fundamentales. Estos primeros aprendizajes buscaràn una sensibilización a la forma en que estas luchas cotidianas producen condiciones espaciales, corporales y materiales muy particulares, que eventualmente tengan la capacidad de informar -precisa y profundamente- procesos de diseño subsecuentes.
El objetivo principal del curso será desarrollar porcesos de investigacion que planteen estrategias o intervenciones a pequeña escala que potencialicen recursos y oportunidades infraestructurales existentes en el marco de la pandemia, por medio de una lògica sensible y basada en la evidencia. Una serie de proyectos construidos a travès de la comunicaciòn remota con miembros de la comunidad, que permita no solo reconstruir virtualmente dinamicas urbanas especìficas, sino actuar sobre estas por medio de herramientas digitales.
PROGRAMA Y CONTENIDO DEL CURSO:
We are currently facing an unprecedented global challenge; It is the first time in history that humanity as a whole has seen its biological integrity threatened simultaneously, despite geographic, cultural or technological differences. Thus, as we seek to overcome progressive economic difficulties, we face the enormous ethical challenge of how to move forward under the imperative of preserving life above all else.
The Workshop will address this fundamental question through the potential of architectural and urban design. It is a call to action and reflection for a radical improvement of the current circumstances of urban space, especially in the environments most vulnerable to the risks of COVID 19. An emergency research and design agenda, aimed at creating alternatives for the environment Currently built through low-cost response devices, capable of addressing infrastructure needs with minimal resources.
Objectives
The workshop focuses on mapping the contingencies and difficulties and alternatives that communities or individuals face to develop their economic, social and educational life, based on the inconveniences generated by the risks of COVID 19. A preliminary investigation of the public sphere that allows exploring the meanings, borders and power relations that make up the public sphere and that determine access to fundamental resources and infrastructure. These first learnings will seek an awareness of the way in which these daily struggles produce very particular spatial, body and material conditions, which eventually have the capacity to inform - precisely and deeply - subsequent design processes.
The main objective of the course will be to develop small-scale interventions that potentiate existing infrastructure resources and opportunities in the context of the pandemic, through sensitive and evidence-based logic. A series of projects built through remote communication with members of the community, allowing not only to virtually rebuild specific urban dynamics, but to act on them using digital tools.
