The Lachenal-Dégallier PLQ project in Versoix (GE) extends the democratic model to include citizen participation in the production of the city. urbz was commissioned by the City of Versoix and the Office de l'Urbanisme of the State of Geneva to produce a local neighbourhood plan (PLQ) with residents, property owners and public authorities for a site near Versoix station, in an area mainly made up of villas. The urbz team moved into a house on the site for 6 months to work on the neighbourhood project with local stakeholders from start to finish. From this process emerged a programme and a neighbourhood plan. In addition to local stakeholders and specialists, urbz also invited young professionals and students from ETH Zurich's Master in Urban Design and HEPIA's Joint Master to take part in the project.
