urbz was selected based on an international call for tenders to assist the ICRC and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in the redevelopment of Pregny Hill. The ICRC employs nearly 20,000 people worldwide and approximately 1,500 in Geneva, its main headquarters, operational center, and the symbolic heart of the organization, overlooking that of the United Nations. The ICRC faces new challenges, particularly the transformation of offices into flexible spaces, the integration of hybrid systems for remote work, the construction of a memorial, and the redevelopment of the museum.
As part of this mandate, urbz implemented a participatory approach across the organization. This approach led to a shared vision and a program for the redevelopment of the site. An interactive on-site exhibition allowed us to validate this vision. Following this, the urbz team developed a comprehensive spatial plan. urbz, with the ICRC, managed a project team composed of landscape architects, mobility engineers, and civil engineers.
